Goodbye 2016 and hello 2017 – a blank canvas on which to write a whole new story.
Last year was a year of consolidation and steady growth at The Spalding and South Holland Voice, and also one of great change as two of my three partners in the business went off on maternity leave and welcomed two beautiful bundles of joy into the world.
Initially, the idea of the big changes ahead frightened me, but a lot of how we deal with change is about the mindset with which we approach it and after giving myself a good talking too, I decided to embrace the new way of working the changes would mean.
And I have been delighted with the way it has gone.
I feel it has been a golden opportunity to express myself, forge new relationships with my colleagues and discover new talents and ambitions within myself.
It is this that has led to the birth of Rant Media.
As the parent company of the Spalding Voice, Rant was always meant to be a PR company which we would grow once the newspaper had found its feet.
It seemed that the temporary loss of two directors meant those plans were to go on hold for a while longer at least.
But not so!
2017 is going to be the year that I drive forward my personal ambitions to make Rant – and some other ideas I have in the pipeline – a big success story.
Now a creative design and marketing agency, my mission is to help the businesses of South Holland to write the next chapter in their success stories.
And I hope that by working with them and other influencers within the district’s towns and villages, we can breathe new life into our high streets and give the people who live here a pride which appears to have been lost.
I have a very clear vision of what I want to achieve and how I am going to achieve it.

Look out 2017, I’m coming to get you!
